Out of the total 10 years of driving experience, candidates should have at least one year of experience as a Staff Car Driver for senior officials such as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), Director, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), or officials of equivalent rank in Central Public Sector Enterprises, State Public Sector Undertakings, or Central/State Government departments.

The upper age limit is 55 years as on 09 June 2026. Therefore, applicants should be born on or after 10 June 1971. Candidates must ensure that all qualification, driving license, and experience certificates are available and ready for verification when required.

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidates will receive a consolidated monthly salary of ₹27,000 during the first year of the contract. Cochin Shipyard Limited has also stated that annual increments will be provided during subsequent years of service based on contract continuation and organizational requirements.

In addition to the monthly pay, candidates may be eligible for compensation for extra hours of work beyond normal working hours. The contract period can extend up to three years, subject to project requirements and individual performance.

Selection Process

The recruitment process is designed to evaluate practical driving skills and professional experience. Unlike many government recruitments that involve written examinations, this selection process is primarily based on a Practical Test.

The Practical Test carries 100 marks. Before appearing for the test, applications will be scrutinized and shortlisted based on eligibility requirements, qualifications, and experience certificates uploaded by candidates.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for certificate verification. Only those who successfully complete document verification will be allowed to participate in the Practical Test.
